MVP VOTES

Alright fella's and ladies, it's time to vote for your season MVP's. In order for this to be valid, we need a minimum of 5 votes. My vote, Tylers, and Davis' won't due anymore. Surely 2 others can give us their opinion.

The website is 100% updated with the exception of season 6 stats being added to the all-time stats. Tyler is working on those and will have them compiled by the beginning of season 7. Wow. I can't believe we have played 6 full seasons. It's fun.

For season 5 my vote goes to Tyler for his amazing 44:3 TD to INT ratio. He also had a solid 8-2 record. Caleb Vanhorn may have edged him out had he played more than 6 games. Vanhorn and Tyler played on the same team in all 6 of Vanhorn's games if I am not mistaken.

For season 6 my vote goes to Davis for shattering 3 season records. Receiving yards, TDs, and total TDs. His record isn't baffeling but at 8-7, he's about 50%. If only he had a good QB to give him the deep ball. He's the Torrey Smith of our league.

My vote for season 5 goes to Caleb Vanhorn. I don't think I was always on his team but I do know he is a freaking pain in the butt to guard and matchup against.

Season 6 I am definitely voting for Davis as well, he no doubt won games for his teams and in the worst of weather (trampoline tumbing winds last week) he was the receiver the QB was always looking to the tight spots.

My season 5 MVP votes goes to Tyler Smith. I almost voted for Vanhorn, but in my book, you can't be an MVP if you only play in 6 games. Tyler had a crazy good passing season. Had one of the best TD/int ratio's i've ever seen, and had a 70% completion percentage. That's a very accurate passing season.
I must say, Vanhorn was on pace to shatter a few records.

Season 6: I thought about this one for a bit. Garlitz & Quinn were in the mix. Honestly everyone's W/L ratio was about 50% so I didn't put much weight into that. Willison is my Season 6 MVP. Here's why: 2nd leading passer. Had a good year on D with 7 interceptions, and returned 4 for TD's! He also contributed on receiving and went Head-2-Head against Quinn at qb most of the season and was able to hold his own.

What? No votes for me yet? I'm just playing. Glad to see you guys are still going strong. Jimmy asked me to give a few comparisons of the leagues. I'm not sure I can give an accurate account of your league though. I've played against you guys twice. I can make some comparisons though.
First, I don't think you guys are as competitive as us. You guys come across as wanting to have more fun than winning. The GCFL is our NFL. We drag thru the work week with Sunday's circled on our calendars. We live for embarrassing each other on the field.
Second, you guys are probably a more athletic group. Our top 5 or 6 match up really well but our bottom guys are probably not as good. An example of this is the league challenge we had.
Third, our website is better. It gets updated more often and has more quality info on it. This could be because your commish has more of a life than ours or because our league is older. Both are true.
Anyways, sorry it took so long to get back to you guts on this. Tell me what you guys think about my comparisons. I really enjoyed our game when we came down this fall. Hope to do it again sometime or maybe have another league challenge sometime.

I was expecting a more sarcastic comment from Reid after Jimmy wrote what he did on the home page...gotta throw that smack talk back baby!!

Reid I must admit, I hate guarding you on Sundays...you are a shifty dude and stinking impossible to lock down. Love having you out consistently man!

My wife says you should love her, for letting me come consistently. It is going to be more difficult once Softball starts. I'm loving it though.

I'm not worried about Jimmy. He won't bite the hand that feeds him very long.

Softball? Surely you aren't serious. I mean, does softball keep individual stats? I didn't think so. Priorities Reid.

And yes, your wife is lovely. I appreciate her greatly.

Even though Tyler is tall and lanky and always wears the same hat. But I give him props for steppin up his game and being flexible in all positions on offense and defense. Yeah!!!

Smith for season 5. I agree..you can't be MVP an only play in 6 games.

Davis for season 6.

But I would argue that Reid is the early favorite for season 7. No one can stop him!

I love how Bowler voted for season 5 but didn't say anything about season 6...haha guess we are gunna blame that on the lack of sleep due to a baby.

Agree with Willison, Reid is the early favorite for sure!

Reid if you play in 12 or more games this season it will be VERY hard to keep you from winning MVP...your numbers so far are insane!! Might even take down some of Davis's reception records.

is 12 games required to qualify? I know I have to miss three more games this season for sure.

There are no requirements for games played in order to get the season MVP. However, the more games you play, the better your stats. The better your stats, the better your chances.

I didn't mean it like you had to play in 12 games...but based on what happened with season 5...VanHorn most definitely would have been MVP if he had played in more than 5/6 games. That's what I meant.

With the exception of Jimmy most of us don't play in all 16 every season. And even lately Jimmy has missed games.

I know that I will miss at least 2 games this season also. Both spring break Sundays. So, I'll only get in 14 max games.

Jimmy, I do have to agree with you on the Pontiac game changing moment of our game. Actually Mitchell had TWO game changing moments. 6th and goal for our team from the 3 yard line. Willison had been running wild at QB all day like Tebow, so on 6th down Mitchell decided to spy Willison at QB, and here's what happened.....
Willison rolls to the left, Willison dives for the pylon... tackled by Mitchell at the 2 yard line for a huge defensive stop!!!
Willison kept us in the game with 2 heroic interceptions, but the triplets of Mitchell, Powers and Corbin were too hard for us to contain.
